Circle
A lightweight, structured salon: small groups, one prompt per week,
everyone writes, and the group learns each other's minds over time.
The kind of intellectual companionship Dorothea yearned for—
serious conversation, moral formation, and shared discovery.
What it is
- • Circle = 3–5 people who commit to a cadence (weekly is perfect)
- • Each week has one prompt (question, dilemma, reading excerpt)
- • Everyone posts one thoughtful written response
- • A rotating leader chooses the prompt and sets tone
- • The app makes it hard to be lazy and easy to be sincere
How a week works
- Monday: New week opens, leader sets prompt
- By Friday: Members write responses
- After submit: You can read others' responses
- Weekend: Threaded discussion & reflection
- Next week: Next leader automatically assigned
"Don't marry a scholar—build a circle of them."
The Mentor Circle is a software embodiment of the kind of relationships Dorothea wanted but rarely found: serious conversation, moral and intellectual formation through others, and growth through disciplined reflection. A space where minds meet, not in idle chatter, but in the patient work of understanding one another.
